Marie “Beeper” Annette York Frees

Marie “Beeper” Annette York Frees, 58, of Manteo died Friday, October 12.

Born in Edenton on August 12, 1960, she was the daughter of Mary Bowen Daniel and the late John York.

A graduate of Manteo High School, Beeper was a caretaker and homemaker.

Along with her mother, Beeper is survived by her husband, Randy Frees; daughters Kassi Leigh Swain, Ashley Rose Frees (fiancé Buddy) and Samantha Jo Frees; five grandchildren, Kayleigh, Gauge, Fletcher, Ryleigh and Dawson; sister Marion York; brothers Benji York and Charles York as well as several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant sister.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17 at Twiford Colony Chapel with Daniel Joyner officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends and relatives for a gathering with details to be announced.
