Victor Ellis Baker, 69, of Moyock, died in his home on April 28, 2020. He was born in Nash County on 9/24/1950 and was the oldest son of Victor Thomas Baker and Louise Ellis Baker. Victor was preceded in death by both of his parents and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kay Herrington Baker, daughter Tara L. Baker Petersen (Jason) and grandsons Tanner McDonald and Zachary Baker; son Marvin Ryan Baker (Tamara) and grandsons Wyatt Baker and William “Teddy” Baker; and brothers Danny Baker (Marcia) and Ricky Baker.

He grew up in Virginia Beach, Va., graduating from First Colonial H.S. in 1968 where he went on to attend and graduate from Virginia Tech in 1975 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He later earned a Master’s Degree from The George Washington University. Victor spent 24 years as an educator for the Chesapeake Public School System, until his retirement in 2000.  He was a member of Great Bridge United Methodist Church and active with Scouting throughout his entire life. He was a member of Willis V. Fentress Masonic Lodge #296 in Virginia Beach, Va., where he served as Worshipful Master in 1996 and District Deputy Grand Master for the 56th Masonic District in 2006 for the Grand Lodge of Virginia.

A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends. Memorial Donations can be made to Willis V. Fentress Masonic Lodge, 6060 Providence Rd. Virginia Beach, Va. 23464.
